Hi! I’m Oliver, the creator of KID2KID. I had the idea for KID2KID because we have loads of stuff that we don’t need, but that somebody else could use. I care about the earth a lot and I didn’t want my old stuff that was good as new to end up landfills. I want to help create a more sustainable way for us to buy and sell things as a community.
Using KID2KID is one of the ways we can all help the environment by reducing and reusing. I was inspired by the David Attenborough documentary ‘Life on our Planet’, so in addition to helping the planet by re-using our stuff, £1 from every transaction will be donated to charity. Many of our generous sellers also choose to donate the full proceeds from the sale of their items to charity. The total proceeds of charity will be split between the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Thomas’s Foundation.
The WWF is the world’s leading independent conservation organization that works to save the planet by protecting endangered species, conserving endangered spaces, and addressing global threats to the planet such as climate change. More information about WWF can be found here: https://www.wwf.org.uk/
The Thomas’s Foundation offers bursaries to pupils, provides programmes that meet the greatest needs of local primary-aged school children, and help fund more than 60 educational programmes annually. KID2KID is a new way to shop and sell stuff you don’t need anymore that is good for the earth, good for saving money and good when you need to clean out your closet!
