I bought something so how do I get my stuff?

Items that were purchased during the week will be available for collection on following Friday afternoon from 4-4:30PM at the Kid2Kid Table in the school playground. Payment can  be made online. In the very unlikely event that we are sick or absent from school for another reason, we will let you know.

What condition are the items I want to buy?

All of the stuff we sell are used but in good condition. We don’t accept items in bad condition. Each item has a description to tell you specifically about the item.

How can I pay for things?

Right now, we are only able to accept payment via credit card on the website.

 

How much money do you donate to charity?

We give our sellers a choice whether they would like to donate the full proceeds from the sale of their item(s) to charity, or if they prefer to receive cash for their items. If a seller has chosen to receive cash, £1 from every sale is donated to charity.

Why does only £1 of every sale go to charity for sellers who have chosen to receive cash?

We give our sellers £1 less than the sale price of items to incentivize people to sell their used stuff on Kid2Kid. Sellers could put their items on Ebay or other second hand websites and receive 100% of the proceeds, but they choose to use Kid2Kid because of the convenience and because it’s better for the earth. The items that are listed on Kid2Kid are in great condition and still have lots of value. By paying our sellers only £1 less than the sale price, we are more likely to receive higher quality and  higher value items, because many people paid a lot of  money for their things and are not willing to give away their things for free.

What if I don’t want to give personal information like my last name and my contact information?

While we hope that the whole school community will use Kid2Kid to help the environment, no one is obligated to use our website or share their details if they do not want to. In order to communicate with our buyers and sellers and arrange payments between them we need to have some basic information. We only use this information to tell sellers when their items have been sold and where they needed to be delivered to, and to transfer payment to sellers when their items are sold. We also need basic information to accept payment from buyers and so we know who is buying the items.

Unfortunately, if you are not able to provide your full name, your form room, and a contact method we can use, we are not able to accept your Kid2Kid orders or items.

Selling

What kind of used stuff do you accept?

Right now we are focusing on books toys and games but check back with us because we may be able to accept more things in the future.  Everything must be in great condition.

How do I get my stuff to you?

If you want to sell any of your things on Kid2Kid, please fill out the seller form HERE to give us more information about the items, then bring the items to school and place them in the Kid2Kid dropbox. Once we receive the information and your items, we will confirm the condition of the items and then list the stuff on the website. On the seller form you can tell us if you prefer to receive the money when your item is sold as cash,  or donate your proceeds to charity when your item is sold. Right now we are accepting books, toys & games. Please make sure all items are in great condition.

How much money can I get for my stuff?

We will try to sell your stuff for at least half of the price it cost new. You can choose if you would like to donate all of the proceeds to charity or if you would like to receive £1 less than the sale price for your items. £1 from every transaction will be donated to charity.

What if I change my mind about some things I don’t want to sell anymore?

If you change your mind about an item that you sent us information about and the item hasn’t been sold its no problem just send us an email on the contact form and we will remove the item from the website.

If you change your mind about an item after it has been sold, we wont be able to accept any other of your items on the website in the future since that isn’t fair for our buyers.

If my stuff sells, how do I get paid?

When your stuff gets sold, you can donate the proceeds to charity, or get paid in cash. You can indicate your preference when you fill out the seller form. If you have chosen to receive cash, we will notify you when your item is sold and your cash will be available for collection at the Kid2Kid table on the Friday of the week your item is sold.
